ESPN wanted to show viewers how easy joining a fantasy league on their platform is. So we got out our calculators and broke it down into simple math terms. 1 + 1 = 2. Jeans + Shorts = Jorts. Because when 2 good things come together, like Friends + Football, they add up to something even greater.
We brought this to life through fun, mobile-first visuals in places where fans are spending their time the most: TV, social, and digital. And it worked. ESPN hit a record for the most unique leagues and teams to sign-up, ever.
Like the endless number of team combinations ESPN fantasy football offers to those who play, we had a blast developing what felt like an endless number of equations throughout this campaign. Here are some iterations of my favorite animations that didn’t end up in the final spots.
